We’re inspired by the life and legacy of Joy Thomas
"I had heard so much about the legend of Joy at IIT, that when I first met him in California, I was disappointed he was not 10 feet tall and made of gold. In my first meeting it was blindingly obvious why people admired him so much: there were very few people in the world who were smarter than Joy, and there even fewer people who were nicer than he was..."

Joy’s time at Apigee/ Google will be remembered by the people he guided, mentored and lifted up, and by the colleagues he made better through technical arguments, and through the sheer equanimity that he brought to all interactions. His impact on individuals will live throughout their lives, long after Apigee has completely blended into Google."

It was Joy who ultimately made it happen for the benefit of many tens of thousands of students and researchers."

Abbas El Gamal, senior of Joy and Professor of Electrical Engineering, Stanford UniversityJoy was one of the most remarkable people I've known. Not only was he the smartest person, he was the kindest, gentlest, and most caring human being I knew! We all miss him dearly.
