JOY OF MENTORING

Mentoring is mutually rewarding. While the students seem to be the obvious beneficiaries, it is the joy of mentoring that motivates and drives the process.


With their decades of experience spanning a wide spectrum of careers and life lessons, JTF Mentors make a significant difference in the lives of students - quite often playing the role of a confidant, guide, or cheerleader as the situation demands. They provide support and advice regarding soft skills, guidance on further studies, employment pathways and job opportunities, or a much needed confidence boost.


By nurturing a culture of sharing and giving, JTF mentors are sowing the seeds for future mentors. In that lies the greatest joy of mentoring.

JTF Mentoring Model

The program was piloted in 2021. JTF mentors are industry STEM professionals from across the world, and remain paired with mentees until the student graduates. 

Through this time, the mentors become a resource the student counts on for advice and guidance through their college journey.

All mentees in the program are JTF-FFE scholars from India enrolled in 4-year engineering colleges.

These students are paired with their mentors starting in their 2nd year and regularly meet with their mentors through the rest of their college career.

The typical time commitment for mentors is


2nd year: 6-10 hours/year

3rd year: 18-24 hours/year

4th year: 4-6 hours/year
